Playing a translation sixteenet

by Paola Mazzarelli This article describes the experience of collective translation which the students of a translation school carry out at the end of each course, and reflects on its learning value. The students work first on their own and then in progressively larger groups, producing a common translation from a series of successive drafts. The translation is always intended for publication and the students’ names are acknowledged.

Little translators grow up

After the project involving the students of the Liceo Galilei in Ostiglia, which was discussed in tradurre’s 7th issue by professors Carla Barbi and Maria Chiara Romani, this article presents the more challenging experience carried out by Giulia Bertagnolio and Roberta Strocchio’s students, from the Liceo Mazzarello in Turin.

Smuggling German literature into Italy

by Gianfranco Petrillo On 29 January 2015 a conference on Lavinia Mazzucchetti – Cultural transfer and civil commitment in 20th century Europe – was held in Milan, at the Fondazione Mondadori. Many seasoned scholars took part, throwing light on a rich and versatile personality who, thanks to her contribution to the publishing world, left a mark on the Italian culture of the past century.
